Disclaimer: Bobafart does not support nor endorse the distribution of the Quake 3 Technical Demo. Only technical help will be provided on this site which is already public knowledge. This site has also been constructed to speed up mod development for Q3A based on Q3A:IHV -- let's turn the unfortunate leak into a fortunate outcome for mod authors and the Quake community as a whole.

First Site to Get the Point Release
[01:00 PST]
At exactly 01:00 hours on Monday March 8th, 1999 this site has become the first site to receive the Q3A:IHV "Point Release". Here is a brief statement from one of the indviduals involved in the production of this fine patch:
This is NOT the Q3A:IHV leak. This is merely a patch for the Q3A:IHV leak that seemed to spread faster than wildfire last weekend. All that has been done with this patch are some corrections, sounds and models fixes, additional players and maps, a handy-dandy graphical user interface (Q3X.EXE - Win95/98) and tons of graphics for use with the Q3A console.
Do NOT contact me for the Q3A:IHV leak installer! You will NOT get it from me. Search for it on the web, or ask a friend.
The main idea behind this release is to allow everyone that already has the IHV leak to get their installation up to a specific level where most of the sounds and models are intact. We are calling this a 'point release' for that reason, but this name is also supposed to be somewhat humorous. :)
This release fixes the original QUAKE3.ZIP installation - as close to 100% as humanly possible. No, it won't get rid of any bugs you are having. Well, maybe one or two of the more annoying ones. :)
With that being said, I have provided a few local copies of it on servers that I own:
q3aihvpr.exe (Mirror 1)
q3aihvpr.exe (Mirror 2)
q3aihvpr.exe (Mirror 3)
***The patch has been pulled due to technical problems. I will be in full effect later on tonight. Please be patient my friends.
This patch includes many new addons to Q3A:IHV. They include new levels, three new players skins (Decay is the sweetest skin seen on Q3A:IHV yet!), improved sounds and new artwork including a new console pic and a new quit screen. Oh yes, let's not forget the awesome front-end loader that you can now use for Q3A:IHV!
The modifications keep coming in! Nothing can stop us!

New Addons Released
[17:55 PST]
Some new addons will be released for Q3A:IHV any minute now. It will be including new maps, textures, models and sounds. The file is approximately 12 megs compressed and should make running Q3A:IHV much more interesting. The patch will be mirrored here.
Entity List
[10:56 PST]
I have included an Entity List in the Editing Section of the site. It should help you out with Editing Q3A:IHV. More to come soon.
Another Patch in the Works
[10:56 PST]
I hear that another patch is in the works. It should be out sometime tomorrow, although I am unsure of how stable Q3A:IHV will be -- err, should I say "unstable" rather.

Editing Updates!
[18:33 PST]
More updates to the site as it continually expands. I have included information on Skinning and Modelling for Q3A. It's about time isn't it? More information can be seen at the Editing Section. Now you mod authors can get to work early!
Thanks fRy!
[21:37 PST]
As promised I have updated the site with a tonne of new textures that will make your levels look a lot more pretty. You'll also experience improvements to the runes, scanners and environmental suit. The rune models are included, which are believed to be server-side, and a new quit screen as well. We have no one else to thank but a great guy named fRy who is leading the Q3A:IHV hacking scene with these great improvements. You can find fRy on IRC if you want to talk to him further about his hacking abilities. Reap this patch file and other files from the Essential Files Section or you can just download it from here: q3patch1.zip (400K).

Read Before E-mailing Please
[14:42 PST]
I have been receiving a lot of e-mails from people trying to get Q3A:IHV working. I don't mind the e-mails and helping people out but a lot of the questions are VERY basic. Please read the help files on this site to aid in setting it up. Only after you have fully read the respective sections that address your question should you e-mail me. Thanks.

Quake 3 Arena IHV FAQ
[12:40 PST]
There appears to be a lot of people having trouble setting up and playing the Q3A:IHV so I thought I would put this little FAQ up. This FAQ could not be made possible without all the help of the Quake community. Many individuals have been communicating with me within the community about work arounds and modifications to Q3A:IHV, hence this site is a culmination of the work of those individuals. I will be adding to it pretty much everyday so feel free to drop by and look at the new updates.
I will also be adding your comments and suggestions to the site as well as a Troubleshooting section in order to answer your burning questions. Furthermore, feel free to mail me if you have anything to contribute to help out your fellow Quakers.
Additionally, if you chose to e-mail me regarding the moral or ethical implications of this site I will gladly post your e-mail (anonymously if you choose) in the mailbag section. Again, I do not condone or condemn the distribution of Q3A:IHV, I am just compiling information that is already on the web for the ease of Quakers everywhere.

Listen to what the critics say:
"Bobafart's Q3A:IHV FAQ is a comprehensive and user-friendly site that has even taught me a thing or two about the innerworkings of Quake 3 Arena." - John Carmack
"The sole reason why Q3A:IHV was leaked was so that Quakers around the world could experience this great site." - Adrian Carmack
"This site is dope man...it's better than women, well maybe not that good!"
- Paul Steed
